In Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire, parents can apply for reception places in primary from the September before their child’s fourth birthday, with the deadline typically being in the following January, and places offered in April using a fair system based on school admissions criteria.

When you apply, you are expected to list three schools in order of priority. To make these choices you will naturally be keen to consider school learning environments, curriculum, staffing, performance in the context of others in the community, and so on.
