MEMBERS

The Members meet annually, at an AGM, and at other times only as required. Their role includes:

  • To act as the guardians of governance across the trust;
  • To receive the annual report and accounts;
  • To ensure the board fulfils its responsibilities

Yasmin Gill

Yasmin was on the governing body of Preston Hedges School when it first opened in 1997 and was a one of the founding members of the Trust when it was formed. Having been part of Preston Hedges since the beginning Yasmin has a passion for making sure the ethos and vision is continued and developed. Yasmin is an HR and Wellbeing manager at a local school and has worked for more than 30 years within local and education authorities.

Chris Gyles

Chris was formally chair of governors at Preston Hedges before being part of the team that created the Trust of which he became a founding member. Chris is passionate about promoting the ethos of the Trust and is an advocate of its development since its inception. He is a senior leader within Her Majesty’s Prison Service where he has worked for 22 years.

Dr Peter Walters

Peter was one of the founding members of the Trust following serving as a governor of Preston Hedges school within one year of it opening. A local GP, Peter ultimately became chair of  governors in which time he oversaw the appointment of Paul Watson as headteacher and was involved in the following two Ofsted inspections. Peter has an overview of the ethos of the Trust and strongly supports the purpose of engaging all children in fun, creativity and achievement.

Sarah Saunders

Sarah was appointed as a Trust member in June 2021 having previously been a governor at Preston Hedges School since 2013 holding the role of vice-chair and serving on the finance and standards committee. Sarah has extensive experience in private and public sector procurement and cost management and brings the Trust experience in these disciplines in addition to a passion to continuously improve the chances and outcomes for the children across the Trust.

Neal Prescott

Neal became a member of the Trust in June 2021 having been associated with Preston Hedges School since 2003 holding roles on both Friends Group and the Governing Body including the position of chair. During this time he helped lead the school transition to Academy status and into the formation of a Trust. His background in Construction in Civil Engineering much of which is related to school design and construction has allowed him to assist in the co-ordination and development of new schools within the Trust.
